I recently explored the book “Sprint: How to Solve Big Problems and Test New Ideas in Just Five Days” penned by Jake, John, and Braden from Google Ventures. This division of Google not only invests in startups but also supports them in developing new products and overcoming challenges. They formulated the ‘sprint method’ as a rapid problem-solving technique, especially useful when confronted with high stakes issues or when stuck in the decision-making process. This method entails a structured 5-day approach which starts with mapping out the problem, then brainstorming and voting on solutions, subsequently prototyping, and finally testing with users. It’s a collaborative effort which requires specific tools and a dedicated team, including a decision-making authority referred to as the ‘decider’.
