      Lesson summary:

Marcus Aurelius was a good emperor who cared for the well-being of his citizens. He wrote the “Meditations” around 2,000 years ago, and his insights on stoic philosophy are still relevant today. The first insight is to ignore what others are doing and focus on our own task at hand. This means we need to uninstall social media apps and take a break from checking social media to devote our time, energy, and effort to our own needs. The second insight is that our reality is made by our opinions, so we should see everything in a positive light. We should interpret every action as positive and every opportunity as a growth opportunity. The third insight is that doing less in life can bring contentment. We should cut out unnecessary actions, words, thoughts, and emotions to be less stressed and focus on what is important to us. We can apply this by always asking ourselves whether a decision or action is superfluous and learning how to say “no”.
